Lefranc - 12H (Lead Free) Gilding Mixture - 75ml

Charbonnel oil-based gilding mixture is an adhesive specially formulated to secure gold leaf to non-porous surfaces such as glass, metal, or marble. Renowned worldwide, the dome of the Palais des Invalides in Paris, as well as the flame of the Statue of Liberty in New York, were created using Charbonnel gilding mixture. Easier to use than the traditional gilder's clay, it requires no preparation. After applying it with a brush to a carefully prepared surface, the gold leaf is applied once the surface becomes slightly tacky. The mixture can also be tinted with oil paints to complement the gold tone.
