Lefranc - 12H (Lead Free) Gilding Mixture - 1L

Charbonnel 12-hour oil-based gilding size is an adhesive designed to secure gold leaf to various surfaces, including prepared wood, glass, metal and marble. Easier to use than traditional water gilding, it does not require a gesso or bole preparation. Application steps:

1. Carefully prepare the surface.

2. Apply an even coat of gilding size with a brush.

3. Wait approximately 12 hours, until the surface becomes slightly tacky.

4. Gently apply the gold leaf to the tacky surface.

The gilding size can also be tinted with oil colours to enhance the tone of the gold. It is particularly suitable for decorative gilding and provides an even, refined finish.
