Soft Black

The Charbonnel Water Washable range combines the performance of traditional extra-fine ink with the convenience of water-soluble cleaning. Highly pigmented and vibrant, these inks offer professional-grade quality without compromising on finish or durability. They can be used just like traditional ink for techniques ranging from intaglio to linocut, woodcut, and monotype. The range consists of 24 colors in 60ml bottles and 5 shades of black in 150ml bottles. Soft black ink has low viscosity and is used to reduce the intensity when a plate has been etched too deeply. It is a flexible ink that is easy to wipe off, made from ivory black. • Formulated with water-soluble oils, no added water • Easy to clean hands and equipment with soapy water • High pigment concentration, comparable to traditional inks • Excellent lightfastness • Colors are fully miscible with one another • Sticky texture, easy to wipe off • Can be printed on slightly less damp paper (compared to traditional inks) • Dries identically to traditional inks • Permanent once dry
